Gender Equality in Science

The Micro- & NanoTools group safeguards the rights to equality and non-discrimination while promoting the conditions for the real and effective equality of individuals.

The group's equal opportunity policy is based on the CSIC's Executive Committee on Equality as well as the IMB-CNM's Equality Committee legislation.

 

  

Extending Equality beyond the laboratory

Cultivating opportunities and promoting equal access to technical and engineering fields and professions is an integral part of the MNTLs group's mission of excellence in research. Through this, the group focuses on gender, diversity, and inclusion in scientific outreach and promotion.

 

Día Internacional de las Mujeres y las Niñas en la Ciencia

The group promotes the full and equal access and participation of women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics fields.






I Jornada anual de la Dona i la Nena en la ciència

María Isabel Arjona presented her professional career as a scientist in the Framework of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science at the Institut Lluís Vives (Barcelona). She focused her talk on the participation of women and girls in STEM disciplines.






El Enigma Agustina

The group organized an outreach session to shine a light on some of the feminine figures in the history of science. The session included the projection of 'El Enigma Agustina', a film produced at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalusía (IAA-CSIC) centered on the struggles of women to access the scientific career in Spain.






Women in Porphyrin Science

Marta Duch and the group's collaborator Dr. Ma. Lluïsa Pérez-García, published an invited paper in the 'Women in Porphyrin Science' special issue of the Journal of Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines.
